AMS Nuclear Engineering was recently invited to present to a delegation exploring how the Hinkley Point C project has successfully integrated education and entrepreneurship into its framework.
Organised by Impuls Zeeland, a Dutch organisation supporting entrepreneurs in the Zeeland province, the delegation aimed to draw inspiration from embedding education at various levels—from secondary schools to universities—while addressing the critical shortage of skilled professionals in the nuclear industry.
The delegation sought to learn how equivalent organisations in Somerset have collaborated in the delivery of Hinkley Point C, understanding the journey and the lessons learned. Their visit included a comprehensive tour of the Hinkley Point C site, showcasing its construction and operational achievements.
This blog aims to summarise the discussions held during this event and highlight how Hinkley Point C has become a cornerstone of economic growth, job creation, and community development both locally and nationally. With a particular focus on the growth of companies like AMS Nuclear Engineering, this post delves into the vital role of education and entrepreneurship.
