EC&I Assembly Technicians assemble the control panels and instrumentation-based systems that AMS Nuclear designs. An apprenticeship with AMS Nuclear will enable you to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake this role as a Suitably Qualified & Experienced Person (SQEP) technician in the future.
The apprenticeship can be structured to suit applicants depending upon their previous educational history. However, it should be expected that the four-year apprenticeship would consist of a Level 3 NVQ and potentially leading on to a Level 4 HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Over the course of the apprenticeship, study at college would be supplemented with on-the-job training in all aspects of the EC&I system assembly following AMS Nuclear’s Technician competency framework.
Completion of this apprenticeship provides a good base from which to either continue down the technician career path or further your education to transition into an EC&I engineering role.
