Obsolescence
Superheater Overpressure Instrumentation Replacement
Type: | Obsolescence |
Scope of Supply: | OPTIONEERING & REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION ¦ ENGINEERING ADVICE NOTE |
Client: | EDF Energy – Dungeness B |
Key Deliverables: | A review of the existing KDG signal isolator datasheets to develop a requirements specification to include: TGN best practices; client internal standard requirements for high integrity systems and seismic qualification/structural integrity |
Project Overview
KDG Series 10125 Signal Isolator Power Supply & KDG Series 10070 Signal Isolators. These instruments are obsolete and are experiencing ageing related failures. AMS were tasked to find a suitable modern replacement for the two signal isolators and the power supply based upon an item equivalency evaluation. Result – Chosen unit did not require separate power supply as it could operate directly from station’s 110v AC supply. The chosen unit has now been deemed fit for purpose and has been procured.
Why AMS?
Experience with EDF Ageing & Obsolescence and history of successful projects with Barnwood CTO. AMS known to have an extensive OEM network and understanding of the internal configuration of old analogue electronics.
